2013 NASTAD Black Gay Men’s Technical Assistance Meeting

The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) is bringing together health departments, community, and youth to better understand how changes in the landscape of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care will impact, and inform str

ategies for effectively working with Black gay men.

The meeting takes place Tuesday, November 5th through Wednesday, November 6th in Dallas, Texas.

How can I participate?

If you will not be attending the meeting, join us online for the open session on Tuesday, November 5th!

Here are three ways you can participate:

We will be live streaming two sessions on Tuesday, November 5th.

The Affordable Care Act and Black Gay Men (BGM)
Tuesday, November 5th, 11:30am – 1:00pm ET/10:30am – 12:00pm CT

This session will include high-level updates and discussion will include high-level updates and discussion on ACA implementation and its impact on Black gay men and HIV/AIDS programs and providers. Panelists will discuss what will occur in states that will and will not fully expand Medicaid.

ACA Outreach and Enrollment Planning
Tuesday, November 5th, 2:00 – 3:00pm ET/1:00– 2:00pm CT

This session will focus on successful engagement strategies for outreach and enrollment of Black Gay Men (BGM) into healthcare as the ACA is rolled out and the expansion of Medicaid happens.
